CLASSES

This page contains information on classes I teach. Now that Bonnie and I have a wonderful new house in East Vancouver with a very spacious living room, I've made the space into a little teaching area.

AUDITION 1 CLASSES ON MONDAY NIGHTS

I teach Linda Darlow's 12 choices audition technique. The class is designed to work with people who are fairly new to the industry or who want a brush up on auditioning basics. It runs for 12 consecutive Monday nights at my house. ACTOR'S AUDITION WORK OUT GROUP

One night a week I run an audition work out group for actors. It is inexpensive (about half the cost of current classes in the industry) and it gives actors a chance to stay sharp and practiced when there isn't much going on, either for themselves or in the industry in general.

The format works like this: we do a warm up, and then we shoot the work, I give feedback, then we shoot it again. Since the price is so reasonable actors are to bring their own two page camera scene to work on.

I run it on four week cycles, and you can start any time. For information on this class message me at classes@henryjmah.com with your name and contact phone number and the words "Work Out Group" in the subject line.

OTHER CLASSES I AM INVOLVED IN

I also enroll classes for Linda Darlow. She and I co lead the Performer's Mastery, as well I am being mentored by her to teach or sub for the other classes that she offers. These include:

AUDITION 2 and AUDITION 3

Students who take Audition 1 with me qualify to move on to Audition 2 or 3, depending on the skill of the actor, or the class that is available. Audition 2/3 is for actors to take the basics of audition technique to the next level. Linda runs actors through a series of exercises as well as provides scene material on a weekly basis to exercise the instrument and keep you sharp for when you get the call to read for a role.

GETTING AN AGENT WORKSHOP
This one day session is for actors that are either seeking representation for the first time or are considering a change. There is much to know about getting an agent, and Linda has been around long enough to know the ins and outs of doing it in a way that is efficient and will produce results.

TWO DAY COMMERCIAL WORKSHOP
Over a weekend, in two very full days you will learn the specific nuts and bolts of how to audition for commercials and improve your call back and booking rating.

Linda used to cast commercials in Los Angeles, and from that learned what is required for an actor to successfully be seen and either brought back or hired. This workshop is a must do for any actor interested in succeeding in the commercial world.

The Cold Reading Series

THE COLD READING SERIES is Vancouver's original live script reading event. It was founded in 1993 by Kathleen Duborg and Angus Fraser. It runs every summer starting the first Thursday evening in June and continues until the last Thursday evening of August. THE CELLULOID SOCIAL CLUB
